What Is Online Pan Card Verification?

Online PAN card verification is a digital facility that allows individuals and authorised entities to confirm the validity and active status of a Permanent Account Number through the Income Tax Department’s e-Filing portal. Online PAN card verification helps ensure accuracy in financial transactions, supports regulatory compliance, and reduces the risk of incorrect or fraudulent PAN usage.

PAN cards that are not linked with Aadhaar are treated as inoperative by the Income Tax Department. An inoperative PAN cannot be used for verification, tax filing, or financial transactions until it is linked with Aadhaar.
