Shriram Asset Management Company Limited is a part of the ‘Shriram’ Group, which has a robust presence in the financial services related to commercial vehicles, life and general insurance, stock broking, consumer finance, chit funds and distribution of financial products. It was originally incorporated on April 10, 1980. The Company received permission from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) to act as the Asset Management Company of Shriram Mutual Fund on November 21, 1994, vide registration no. MF/017/94/4. Shriram Credit Company Limited (SCCL) owns 68.67% of the stake in the fund house and regulates various stock market operations undertaken by the fund. SCCL is a subsidiary that comes under the Shriram conglomerate and is responsible for the investment strategy of Shriram Mutual Funds.
