Indian markets are likely to open flat tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.

The US stocks showed a significant move to the downside during trading on Tuesday extending the pullback seen over the course of the two previous sessions. The major averages all showed substantial moves into negative territory. The Dow tumbled 2.3 percent to 27501 and the Nasdaq plunged 4.1 percent to 10848 .

UK stocks ended lower on Tuesday as stocks led by those in the technology space slipped amid concerns about growth after data showed euro zone GDP registered its sharpest decline on record in the second quarter. The FTSE 100 dipped by 0.1 percent to 5930.

On domestic front the Indian stocks traded in range bound manner finally closing marginally in the red. The benchmark BSE Sensex dipped by 0.1 percent to 38365.
