Indian markets are likely to open negative tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.

US stocks showed a substantial move back to the downside during the trading day on Tuesday after recovering from an initial selloff in the previous session. With the drop on the day the Dow fell to its lowest closing level in well over a month. While the Dow tumbled by 1.8 percent to 25965 the Nasdaq plunged by 2 percent to 7963.

U.K. stocks fell on Tuesday after U.S. President Donald Trump threatened to raise tariffs on Chinese goods dealing a blow to hopes of an imminent trade deal. The benchmark FTSE 100 was down by 0.8 percent at 7318 as trading resumed after a long holiday weekend.

On domestic front Indian shares succumbed to selling pressure for the fifth day running on Tuesday as lukewarm corporate earnings results as well as renewed doubts over U.S.China trade talks weighed on investors appetite for risk. The benchmark BSE Sensex fell by 0.8 percent to 38277.
