Indian markets are likely to open flat tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.

US stocks turned in a relatively lackluster performance during trading on Monday following the strength seen last week. Despite the choppy trading the techheavy Nasdaq reached a new record closing high. The major averages finished the day on opposite sides of the unchanged line. While the Nasdaq rose by 0.5 percent to 12520 the Dow fell 0.5 percent to 3070.

UK stocks edged higher on Monday as uncertainty over a Brexit trade deal battered the pound. Traders started pricing in the prospect of a no deal outcome to EUUK trade negotiations. The benchmark FTSE 100 moved up by 0.3 per cent to 6571.

Indian shares extended their recordbreaking streak for a third day running on Monday amid news of progress in coronavirus vaccines. The benchmark SP BSE Sensex surged by 0.8 percent to 45427.
