Indian markets are likely to open flat tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.

The US stocks showed a lack of direction over the course of the trading session on Wednesday extending the lackluster performance seen in the previous session. The major averages once again spent the day bouncing back and forth across the unchanged line. The Dow edged down by 0.1 percent to 27492 and the Nasdaq dipped 0.3 percent to 8410.

The UK stocks drifted lower on Wednesday as investors awaited more clarity on U.SChina trade talks and Marks Spencer reported a 17 percent drop in firsthalf profit hit by falling clothing sales. The FTSE 100 was down by 0.3 percent to 7369.

On domestic front Indian markets resumed their bull run on Wednesday after pausing for breath the day before. The benchmark BSE Sensex was up by 0.6 percent to 40469.
