Indian markets are likely to open negative tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.

The US stocks showed a lack of direction over the course of the trading session on Wednesday before eventually ending the day mixed. The major averages finished the session on opposite sides of the unchanged line. While the Dow slumped by 0.9 percent to 23665 the Nasdaq rose by 0.5 percent to 8854.

UK stocks were moving higher yesterday ahead of the Bank of Englands decision on interest rates and QE as well as updated economic forecasts today. The FTSE 100 increased by 0.5 percent to 5875.

On domestic front Indian shares rose on Wednesday with banking and auto shares gaining ground on hopes for economic recovery after the country eased some lockdown restrictions. The benchmark BSE Sensex rose by 0.7 per cent to 31686.
