Indian markets are likely to open positive tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.

The US stocks remained firmly positive throughout the trading day on Monday. The major averages extended last weeks upward trend with the techheavy Nasdaq reaching another new record closing high. The Dow surged up 1.8 percent to 26287 and the Nasdaq soared 2.2 percent to 10433.

UK stocks were sharply higher on Monday as investors cheered a strong rally in Chinese markets on expectations the worlds second biggest economy will lead a recovery from the coronavirusinduced slump. The FTSE 100 was up by 1.9 percent to 6275.

On domestic front Indian shares rose for the fourth straight session on Monday to end at their highest levels since March 6 even as the country grappled to contain the rising number of coronavirus cases. The benchmark BSE Sensex was up by 1.3 per cent to 36487.
