Indian markets are likely to open flat tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.

The US stocks showed a strong upward move during trading on Wednesday extending the rally seen over the course of the two previous sessions. With the continued advance on the day the Nasdaq and the SP 500 ended the session at new record closing highs. The Dow surged up 1.7 percent to 29290 and the Nasdaq rose 0.4 percent to 9508.

UK stocks advanced on Wednesday as investors cheered reports of breakthrough in coronavirus treatment. The benchmark FTSE100 up by 0.8 per cent to 7489.

On domestic front Indian shares rose for a third straight session on Wednesday with positive global cues and encouraging service sector activity data helping underpin investor sentiment ahead of the RBIs monetary policy announcement tomorrow. The benchmark BSE Sensex was up by 0.9 percent to 41142.
