Indian markets are likely to open flat tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.
The US stocks turned in a relatively lackluster performance during trading on Thursday before eventually ending the day mixed. The Dow inched up 0.1 percent to 26282 while the Nasadq fell by 0.7 percent to 9616.
UK stocks fell slightly yesterday as markets took a breather after recent sharp gains on hopes for a swift economic recovery from the coronavirus pandemic. The FTSE 100 fell by 0.4 percent to 6357.
On domestic front Indian shares gave up early gains to end lower on Thursday after six straight days of gains as IT healthcare and metal stocks gained ground banking and financial stocks came under selling pressure after recent sharp gains. The benchmark BSE Sensex fell by 0.4 per cent to 33981.
