US stocks showed a significant turnaround over the course of the trading day on Wednesday. The major averages all climbed well off their worst levels of the day and finished the day mixed. The Dow rose or 0.2 percent to 29884 and Nasdaq edged down 0.1 percent to 12349.
UK stocks were little changed on Wednesday after the U.K. became the first country to approve PfizerBioNTech Covid19 vaccine for mass use. The benchmark FTSE 100 inched up by 0.1 per cent to 6392.
