Indian markets are likely to open flat tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.
US stocks fluctuated over the course of the trading session on Thursday. The major averages spent a good part of the day bouncing back and forth across the unchanged line. The Dow rose 0.2 percent to 25169.88 and the Nasdaq climbed 0.3 percent to 7567.
U.K. stocks eked out modest gains on Thursday as higher oil prices helped lift mining and energy stocks. FTSE 100 was up by 0.4 percent at 7212.
On domestic front Indian shares rose on Thursday as investors awaited appointments for key ministries at Prime Minister Narendra Modis swearingin ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhawan later in the day. The benchmark BSE Sensex was up by 0.8 percent to 39831.
