Indian markets are likely to open positive tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.

The US stocks ended the trading session on Wednesday mixed. While the Nasdaq moved notably higher by 1 per cent to 10154 the Dow showed a lack of direction before closing in negative territory with a drop of 0.3 percent to 25735.

UK stocks were modestly higher on yesterday as investors digested positive data from China and the U.K. The latest drop was the joint largest contraction since the third quarter of 1979. The FTSE 100 inched up by 0.2 percent to 6180.

On domestic front Indian shares posted strong gains on Wednesday with financials leading the surge after a survey showed the pace of contraction in Indias manufacturing sector slowed further in June. The benchmark BSE Sensex jumped by 1.4 per cent to 35414.
