Indian markets are likely to open flat tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.

The US markets gave back some ground during an abbreviated trading day on Friday. The major averages all moved to the downside pulling back off Wednesdays record closing highs. Dow fell 0.4 percent to 28051 and Nasdaq slid 0.5 percent to 8665.

The UK stocks were little changed on Friday amid lingering trade tensions and lack of overnight cues from Wall Street. The FTSE 100 fell by 0.2 per cent to 7410.

On domestic front Indian shares fell on Friday as the U.S.China trade conflict took center stage and investors braced for slower GDP numbers for the September quarter to be released later in the day. The benchmark BSE Sensex was down by 0.8 per cent to 40794.
