Indian markets are likely to open negative tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.

The US stocks moved mostly higher over the course of the trading day on Friday rebounding following the weakness seen in the previous session. With the turnaround the Nasdaq and the SP 500 reached new record closing highs. The Dow inched up 0.2 percent to 27192 and the Nasdaq surged by 1.1 percent to 8330.

U.K. stocks eked out modest gains on Friday as investors cheered positive earnings updates from the likes of Vodafone and Pearson. The FTSE 100 was up by 0.4 percent at 7520.

On domestic front Indian shares rose slightly on Friday to snap a sixday losing streak as financial heavyweights made a strong comeback in the afternoon trade The benchmark BSE Sensex inched up by 0.1 percent to 37883.
