Indian markets are likely to open negative tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.

The US stocks regained ground after coming under pressure in morning trading on Thursday but still ended the day moderately lower. With the pullback on the day the major averages partly offset the notable gains posted in the previous session. Dow fell 0.3 percent to 26891 and the Nasdaq slid 0.6 percent to 8030.

The UK stocks rose sharply on Thursday as traders reacted positively to the headlines concerning the U.S.China and the U.S.Japan ties. The FTSE 100 was up by 1.1 percent to 7370.

On domestic front Indian markets rose sharply on Thursday with gains seen across sectors barring information technology companies as the rupee traded higher amid falling crude oil prices. The benchmark BSE Sensex was up by 1.1 percent to 38989.
