Indian markets are likely to open flat tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.

The US stocks saw some further upside during trading yesterday after ending the previous session mostly higher. With the continued upward move the major averages once again reached new record closing highs. The Dow and the Nasdaq inched up by 0.2 percent to 28122 and to 8648 respectively.

The UK shares ended on a tepid note Tuesday as investors awaited further clarity on the U.S.China trade talks. The FTSE 100 was almost flat at 7389.

On domestic front Indian shares hit record highs in the morning on Tuesday before giving up all gains to end modestly lower. The benchmark BSE Sensex dipped by 0.2 per cent to 40821.
