Indian markets are likely to open negative tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.

The US stocks fluctuated after an initial move to the downside but maintained a negative bias throughout the trading session on Friday. With the drop on the day the major averages extended the sharp pullback seen in afternoon trading on Thursday. The Dow slid 0.7 percent to 26469 and the Nasdaq slumped 0.9 percent to 10363.

UK stocks were moving lower on Friday as worries about rising Covid19 cases and a sharp escalation in tensions between the United States and China overshadowed a slew of upbeat economic data. The FTSE 100 was down by 1.4 percent to 6126.

On domestic front Indian shares ended largely unchanged on Friday amid weak global cues after China ordered the U.S. consulate in the southwestern city of Chengdu to close in response to the closure of the Chinese consulate in Houston earlier this week. The benchmark BSE Sensex was down by 0.1 percent to 38128.
