Indian markets are likely to open negative tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.

The US stocks fluctuated over the course of the trading day on Wednesday but managed to end the session mostly higher. With the upward move the Dow reached its best closing level in over a month and the SP 500 rose to a new fivemonth closing high. The Dow advanced 0.6 percent to 27005 and the Nasdaq rose 0.2 percent to 10706.

UK stocks were moving lower on Wednesday after reports suggested that the U.K. government is abandoning hope for a trade deal with the EU. The FTSE 100 was down by 1.0 percent to 6205.

On domestic front Indian shares fell modestly on Wednesday to snap a fiveday winning streak with automakers PSU banks and IT companies pacing the decliners on the back of weak global cues. The benchmark BSE Sensex was down by 0.2 percent to 37872.
