Indian markets are likely to open flat tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.

US stocks fluctuated over the course of the day session on Monday but maintained a negative bias throughout the session. The major averages all finished the day lower although the techheavy Nasdaq underperformed its counterparts by a wide margin. The Dow fell by 0.3 percent to 25680 and the Nasdaq plunged by 1.5 percent to 7702.

U.K. stocks were moving lower on Monday as trade worries persisted and budget airline Ryanair warned its shareholders not to expect any profits growth in the current fiscal year. The benchmark FTSE 100 was down by 0.3 percent at 7323.

On domestic front Indian shares posted strong gains on Monday after most exit polls predicted a majority for the BJPled NDA in the sixweeklong general election ended on Sunday. The benchmark BSE Sensex surged by 3.8 percent to 39353.
