Indian markets are likely to open flat tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.

U.S. stocks ended notably lower on Wednesday as worries about inflation and the bitcoins sharp plunge weighed on the market. The Dow lost 0.5 percent and closed at 33896 and the tech laden Nasdaq settled at almost flat level of 13300.

U.K. stocks retreated on Wednesday after official data showed that consumer price inflation accelerated more than expected in April on higher household utility and fuel prices. The benchmark FTSE 100 plunged by 1.1 percent to 6995.

Indian shares fell notably on Wednesday with a cautious commentary by Tata Motors management and weak global cues weighing on sentiment. Global cues were weak amid lingering worries that a persistent overshoot in inflation might force central banks to tighten their easy monetary policies. The benchmark BSE Sensex fell by 0.6 percent to 49903.
