Indian markets are likely to open Neutral tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.

US showed a lack of direction throughout much of the trading session on Thursday before moving to the upside going into the close. With the lateday advance the Dow and the SP 500 reached new record closing highs The Dow was up by 0.7 percent to 30606 and the Nasdaq inched up by 0.1 percent to 12888.

U.K. stocks ended the final session of calendar year 2020 on a weak note as worries about rising coronavirus cases and tighter restrictions on movements outweighed positive such as the rollout of vaccines and a massive U.S. fiscal stimulus. The benchmark FTSE 100 plunged by 1.5 per cent to 6461.

Indian shares ended the final trading session of calendar year 2020 on a flat note after swinging between gains and losses right through the day as investors refrained from making significant moves due to a lack of triggers. The benchmark SP BSE Sensex was flat at 47751.
