Indian markets are likely to open flat tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.

The US stocks showed a lack of direction over the course of the trading day on Wednesday. The major averages spent the day bouncing back and forth across the unchanged line Eventually the major averages finished the day modestly lower. The Dow edged down 0.1 percent to 27002 the Nasdaq dipped 0.3 percent to 8124.

The UK stocks edged lower on Wednesday and the pound dropped as doubts grew over the prospects of a Brexit deal. The FTSE 100 fell by 0.1 percent to 7205.

On domestic front Indian shares ended Wednesdays lackluster session slightly higher after some latesession buying in the financials energy and IT sectors. Sentiment was underpinned by positive global cues and domestic data showing the trade deficit at a sevenmonth low. The benchmark BSE Sensex inched up by 0.2 percent to 38599.
