Indian markets are likely to open positive tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.

The US stocks showed a lack of direction over the course of the trading day on Friday following the sharp pullback seen during the previous session. The major averages spent the day bouncing back and forth across the unchanged line and eventually the major averages ended the session mixed. While the Dow climbed 0.5 percent to 27666 the Nasdaq fell by 0.6 percent to 10854.

UK stocks closed on a slightly positive note on Friday despite ongoing concerns about Brexit and continued surge in coronavirus cases in several parts of Europe. The FTSE 100 rose by 0.5 percent to 6032.

On domestic front the Indian stock market after opening slightly lower and breaking into positive territory subsequently the Indian stock market faltered Friday due to lack of support at higher levels. The benchmark BSE Sensex was flat at 38854.
