Indian markets are likely to open negative tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.

US stocks turned in a relatively lackluster performance during trading on Wednesday before ending the session modestly lower. The major averages added to the slim losses posted in the previous session although selling pressure remained subdued. The Dow dipped by 0.2 percent to 26004 and the Nasdaq fell by 0.4 percent to 7793.

U.K. stocks retreated on Wednesday as trade worries and concerns about slowing growth returned to haunt investors. The FTSE 100 was down by 0.5 percent to 7358.

On domestic front Indian shares fell on Wednesday to snap a threesession winning streak amid weak global cues and ahead of the release of industrial output and numbers. During the trading session benchmark BSE Sensex fell by 0.5 percent to 39757.
