Indian markets are likely to open flat tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.
The US stocks after coming under pressure early in the session stocks remain mostly negative in midday trading on Monday. The major averages have slid firmly into negative territory adding to the losses posted last week. The Dow was down 221.82 points or 0.8 percent to 26065 and the Nasdaq was down 0.5 percent to 7917.
U.K.stocks ended lower on Monday with investors largely staying cautious and refraining from doing any significant buying amid rising concerns about U.S.China trade dispute. The FTSE 100 was down by 0.37% to 7226.
On domestic front Indian shares rose on Friday to extend strong gains from the previous session amid optimism the government will announce some concrete measures to reverse the pessimism and lift investor confidence. The benchmark BSE Sensex was up by 0.68% to 37581
