Incorporated in Apr.'85 as Devi Forge Pvt Ltd, the name of the company was changed to Devi Stone Craft Pvt Ltd in Apr.'87. In Nov.'91, the company was acquired by the Steel Tubes of India (STI) group ... and its name was changed to Devu Stone Craft since more than 25% of the paid-up capital of the company was held by the body corporates. In 1992, the name of the company was changed to STI Granite India. Initially, the company was engaged in the business of forgings. It has discontinued the forgings business to diversify into granite slabs in 1993. In Jul.'93, it came out with a public issue to set up a 100% EOU in Tumkur district, Karnataka. The company processes rough blocks into granite slabs and tiles. The company signed a MoU with International Trading Company, Japan, for the export of granite slabs and tiles. The Company has entered into 5 years marketing arrangement with US based granite distributor.
