The clarification comes after confusion regarding holiday dates, particularly in Kerala, where the state government revised the holiday schedule.
According to the RBI's holiday calendar, bank branches in several states and major cities will remain closed on June 26 to mark Muharram.
Customers planning branch visits for banking services should complete their work before the holiday to avoid inconvenience.
For many customers, the Muharram holiday will be followed by the fourth Saturday on June 27 and Sunday on June 28.
As a result, bank branches in affected regions will remain closed for 3 consecutive days.

Initially, Kerala had declared June 25 as the Muharram holiday. However, following moon-sighting announcements and discussions with community organisations, the state government shifted the holiday to June 26.
The revised date aligns with the observance of Ashura, the 10th day of Muharram, and brings Kerala's banking holiday schedule in line with the RBI's calendar.
While bank branches may remain closed, digital banking services will function without interruption.
