JSW MG Motor India Appoints Parth Jindal as Chairman with Immediate Effect

JSW MG Motor India has appointed Parth Jindal as Chairman with immediate effect. The decision was taken by the company’s Board of Directors on August 31, 2026, according to a Times of India news report citing an official statement.
Jindal has served on the board since JSW Group and SAIC Motor formed their joint venture. His involvement with the company has covered product strategy, manufacturing expansion, and localisation.
Production Plans at Halol
JSW MG’s Halol facility can currently produce 1.10 lakh units a year. The company has outlined plans to expand capacity to 1.60 lakh units by March 2027, followed by 2.20 lakh units by January 2028.
The company is also working to increase local sourcing as it expands its manufacturing base.
Models Across Different Segments
JSW MG recently launched the Hector Tomahawk EV and Hector Tomahawk PHEV. The introductory ex-showroom prices for the two models start at ₹19.50 lakh and ₹25.70 lakh, respectively.
Its existing ICE range includes the Astor, Hector and Majestor. On the electric vehicle side, the company sells the Comet, Windsor, ZS, M9 and Cyberster.
Other Positions Held by Jindal
Jindal is Managing Director of JSW Cement and JSW Paints. He is also Chairman of JSW Dulux and a director on the board of JSW Energy.
Outside the group, he founded JSW Sports and is Chairman and co-owner of the Indian Premier League franchise Delhi Capitals.
JSW MG Motor India’s Current Plans
The appointment comes as JSW MG Motor India adds to its product range and prepares for higher production capacity. It is also working on its localisation programme, domestic supply chain, and advanced automotive technologies.
With the change taking effect immediately, Jindal takes over as Chairman while continuing in his other roles across the JSW Group and its associated businesses.
