Auto Sales July 2025: Which Company Sold the Most 4 Wheelers in India?
July 2025 witnessed a dynamic performance from top automobile manufacturers in India, with Maruti Suzuki leading in overall four-wheeler sales. The industry’s monthly sales figures reveal insights into each automaker’s performance across domestic and export markets.
Maruti Suzuki: Still on Top
Maruti Suzuki India Limited retained its leadership with total sales of 1,80,526 units in July 2025, including 1,40,570 units sold domestically, 8,211 units to other OEMs, and 31,745 units exported. In July 2024, the company reported total sales of 1,75,041 units. The compact segment continued to drive volume, led by models like the Swift, Baleno, and WagonR.
Mahindra & Mahindra: SUV Demand Drives Growth
Mahindra & Mahindra recorded total auto sales of 83,691 units, a 26% YoY growth. The company sold 49,871 SUVs domestically and 21,571 commercial vehicles.
Tata Motors: Passenger Vehicle Dip, EV Growth
Tata Motors clocked 69,131 total units, down from 71,996 units in July 2024. The passenger vehicle segment dropped by 11% YoY, but EV sales soared by 42%, reaching 7,124 units. Tata’s commercial vehicle division saw moderate growth of 7%.
In July 2025, the company's total domestic sales stood at 65,953 units, registering a year-on-year decline of 6% compared to 70,161 units sold in July 2024.
Hyundai India: SUV Share Hits Record High
Hyundai Motor India Limited sold 60,073 vehicles (43,973 domestic and 16,100 exports). Notably, SUVs accounted for 71.8% of domestic sales, the highest since the company’s inception.
