The NSE Nifty Smallcap 100 Index opened the September 7, 2026, session at 20,086.45 and registered an intraday high of 20,160.25. The index later touched an intraday low of 20,047.25.

The Nifty Smallcap 100 opened with a mild soft bias at the 20,086.45 level compared to its previous close of 20,095.45. Early momentum pushed the index to an intraday high of 20,160.25, but afternoon corrections brought it down to an intraday low of 20,047.25. At 1:15 PM, the index registered a mild recovery to trade at 20,094.85, down by a marginal 0.60 points or 0.00% on September 7, 2026. 

Advance Decline Ratio of Nifty Smallcap 100 Index 

The advance decline ratio of Nifty Smallcap 100 reflected a cautious tone during the afternoon session on September 7, 2026, with 39 constituents managing to trade in the green, while a larger cohort of 61 stocks traded in the red, leaving 0 stocks unchanged. 

Top Gainers and Losers of Nifty Smallcap 100 Index on September 7, 2026 

The small-cap index recorded highly polarized movements across its major components during the session.  

Among the gainers, Wockhardt (WOCKPHARMA) led the positive traction with a Last Traded Price (LTP) of 2,206.10, gaining 117.40 points (+5.62%). It was followed by Narayana Hrudayalaya (NH), which rose by 51.00 points (+2.74%) to an LTP of 1,909.50. Piramal Capital & Housing Finance (PIRAMALFIN) maintained strong buying interest, trading at an LTP of 2,273.70 with a value increase of 48.70 points (+2.19%), while City Union Bank (CUB) rounded out the top gainers at an LTP of 241.03, ticking up by 5.02 points (+2.13%). 

Conversely, severe profit-booking was observed among the top losers. Manappuram Finance (MANAPPURAM) dropped the sharpest in percentage terms, falling by 14.60 points (-4.30%) to an LTP of 325.10.  

Brigade Enterprises (BRIGADE) also faced notable corrections, shedding 18.05 points (-2.59%) to reach an LTP of 678.05.  

Amara Raja Energy & Mobility (ARE&M) lost value, decreasing by 22.10 points (-2.56%) to trade at an LTP of 842.10, while Hindustan Copper (HINDCOPPER) slid by 12.80 points (-2.45%) to cross an LTP of 508.85.

Conclusion 

On Monday, September 7, 2026, the NSE Nifty Smallcap 100 demonstrated relative stability, trading unchanged on a percentage basis at 20,094.85 by afternoon. Strong sector-specific rallies in healthcare and specialty financial names like Wockhardt and Piramal Finance successfully cushioned the index against deeper selling pressures seen in commodities and real estate.
