About Narayana Hrudayalaya

Narayana Hrudayalaya Limited was established on July 19, 2000, by its founder, Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty. Narayana Hrudayalaya Limited is the group’s flagship entity. The organisation boasts a comprehensive network comprising 23 multi-speciality and super-speciality hospitals, along with 7 heart centres distributed over 18 locations in India and a multi-speciality hospital in the Cayman Islands.

In the financial year concluding on March 31, 2016, the company fully acquired Narayana Hrudayalaya Surgical Hospital Private Limited (NHSHPL) from Infrastructure Development Corporation (Karnataka) Limited (IDECK), purchasing the remaining 26% stake for ₹3,025.60 lakh.

That year, the company expanded internationally, collaborating with Kenyan doctors and international financial institutions to launch a multi-specialty hospital in Nairobi, Kenya. This venture saw the company initially holding a 26% equity stake, amounting to $1.325 million.

Asia Healthcare Development Limited (AHDL), a fully-owned subsidiary engaged in hospital operations and related activities, was sold in November 2016 to Lila Hospitals Private Limited for ₹38.34 lakh. The shares were listed on the BSE Limited and National Stock Exchange of India Limited on January 6, 2016.

In 2017, the company launched a 30-bed platinum wing at Mazumdar Shaw Medical Centre in Bengaluru and partnered with Cisco for remote diagnostic capabilities. Narayana Hrudayalaya Surgical Hospital Private Limited (NHSHPL) also signed an agreement to operate a hospital in New Delhi.

Further expansion in the financial year ending March 31, 2018, included the commissioning of SRCC Children’s Hospital in Mumbai and the acquisition of a hospital in Gurugram.
