IndiGo has successfully completed a mandatory Airbus system upgrade across its entire A320-family fleet, making all 200 aircraft fully compliant with the latest safety standards.

The airline highlighted that the upgrade was executed with minimal impact on flight schedules, ensuring zero cancellations. The process was coordinated between engineering and operations teams, allowing the fleet to operate with the approved configuration while maintaining regular monitoring as part of routine safety procedures.

Air India Express Conducts Safety Checks

Following safety concerns related to the Airbus A320 software update, Air India Express has completed precautionary checks on most of its fleet, with remaining aircraft scheduled for inspection soon.

The airline worked closely with Airbus and regulatory authorities to minimise operational disruptions, prioritising passenger safety. Operations are expected to normalise once all checks are completed, reinforcing the airline’s commitment to safe and reliable flights.

Airbus CEO Apologises for Delays

Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury acknowledged delays caused by the required software fix, emphasising that passenger safety remains the top priority. Faury assured that teams are working around the clock to implement the updates and return affected aircraft to service. Airbus also confirmed that the fix is being deployed rapidly to reduce disruptions for airlines and passengers alike.

DGCA Airworthiness Directive

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) issued an airworthiness directive banning the operation of multiple Airbus models due to a potential safety risk from solar radiation, which could corrupt flight control data. Airbus has been proactively working with aviation authorities to implement necessary software and hardware protections to safeguard the fleet.
