Hindustan Copper Limited has communicated to its equity shareholders about the upcoming dividend disbursements for the financial year 2025-26.  

The company has outlined the withholding tax processes and mandatory Tax Deduction at Source configurations in a formal regulatory announcement dated August 27, 2026. 

Dividend Recommendation and Approval 

The Board of Directors of Hindustan Copper had earlier recommended a final dividend payment on May 15, 2026.  

The approved dividend is ₹1.86 per equity share, applicable to shares with a face value of ₹5 each.  

The final dividend distribution is contingent upon formal approval at the Annual General Meeting (AGM), scheduled for September 23, 2026. 

Schedule and Record Dates 

The official record date for the dividend has been set as September 16, 2026. Shareholders eligible for the dividend must ensure their details are updated to facilitate electronic payment methods approved by the Reserve Bank of India. 

Taxation and Compliance 

A standard Tax Deduction at Source (TDS) rate of 10% will be applied to resident individuals who provide a valid PAN card. If the PAN is missing or inoperative, a higher penalty deduction of 20% will be enforced.  

Tax will not be deducted if the annual dividend amount does not exceed ₹10,000, or if a valid Form 121 declaration or lower-withholding certificate is submitted.

Non-Resident Taxation and Treaty Benefits 

Non-resident shareholders will face a standard statutory withholding tax rate of 20%, plus applicable surcharge and cess. They may opt for Double Tax Avoidance Treaty benefits if more favourable.  

To claim these benefits, non-residents must file Form 41 online and provide a Tax Residency Certificate and beneficial ownership self-declaration form. 

Submission Timelines 

All required tax declarations and exemption certificates must be submitted online by September 22, 2026, through the portal of the Registrar and Share Transfer Agent, Alankit Assignments Limited.

As of September 15, 2026, at 11:06 AM, Hindustan Copper share price on NSE was trading at ₹501.90, down by 2.45% from the previous closing price.
