Several banks across India will remain closed today to mark Diwali and other regional festivals. Closures vary by state depending on local traditions, as per the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) holiday calendar.
Most states will celebrate Diwali on October 20, during which banks will remain closed in:
Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, New Delhi, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal.
Some states, including Maharashtra, Sikkim, Jammu and Kashmir, Manipur, Madhya Pradesh, and Odisha, will celebrate Diwali on October 21, and banks in these states will remain closed on that day instead.
In addition to festival holidays, banks will remain closed on Sundays (October 19 and 26) and the fourth Saturday (October 25) as per standard weekly offs.

Customers should plan banking activities in advance during this festive period. While physical branches will remain closed, ATMs, mobile apps, and internet banking will continue to operate, ensuring uninterrupted access to essential banking services.
