Andhra Pradesh Government Employees to Get 2 Pending DA Instalments from October 2026

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has agreed to release two pending DA instalments to government employees from October 1, 2026, as per news reports. The decision was taken after he met employee groups and discussed their demands. 

The two DA payments have been pending since July 1, 2024, and January 1, 2025. The government will also appoint the 12th Pay Revision Commission. This will cost the state about ₹2,880 crore every year. 

What Has Andhra Pradesh Government Announced? 

The government will also credit the 2022 surrender leave amount to employees' accounts by the Sankranti festival. Police personnel will receive payment for one additional surrender leave during the upcoming Dussehra festival. 

The government has also decided to give an additional pension from January 2027. Pensioners above 70 years will get an additional 10% pension, while those above 75 years will get an additional 15%. 

Changes for Pensioners and Health Scheme 

The Employees Health Scheme (EHS) will also be streamlined. From October, the government will make monthly payments to the NTR Vaidya Seva Trust. 

Employee associations said delayed DA payments and the pending pay revision had been a concern for employees, pensioners and teachers. 

Employee Associations Raise Other Issues 

AP JAC president Bopparaju Venkateswarlu said issues involving other employees, contract and outsourcing staff, and Village and Ward Secretariat staff have been sent to the Cabinet Sub-Committee and senior officials for further discussion. 

The government said the decisions announced by the Chief Minister will result in additional annual spending of around ₹2,880 crore.
