A dedicated grievance redressal forum for Central government pensioners delivered significant outcomes this week, with a large number of pending cases settled during a single-day hearing.

Grievance Resolution and Scope

The 15th Pension Adalat was organised as a common platform to address unresolved pension-related issues of super senior and family pensioners. .

Held at the Indian Institute of Public Administration, the event examined 1,087 grievances linked to 30 government departments and ministries, including defence, home, finance, posts, housing and urban affairs, and civil aviation.

Of these, 815 grievances were resolved on the spot, officials said, reflecting a high resolution rate for long-standing cases.

Administration and Case Outcome

The day-long Adalat was chaired by Rachana Shah, Secretary of the Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare.

Among the cases highlighted was that of Pritam Singh from Rewari in Haryana, who had raised issues related to unpaid General Provident Fund, leave encashment and gratuity that had remained unresolved for over 114 days.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, officials from the Border Security Force confirmed that the case had been settled and arrears of ₹68,10,192 would be credited to the pensioner’s account at the earliest.
