Zomato Founder Deepinder Goyal Unveils LAT Aerospace to Build Indian Jet Engines

Zomato and Blinkit founder Deepinder Goyal has taken a significant leap into aerospace with the launch of LAT Aerospace. His aim is to develop gas turbine engines fully designed and manufactured in India, targeting applications like UAVs and STOL aircraft.
LAT Aerospace to Develop Indigenous Jet Engines
Deepinder Goyal announced LAT Aerospace’s bold mission to design lightweight, flight-ready gas turbine engines from scratch. These engines will be 100% developed in India, breaking away from past attempts that struggled to reach completion. Located in Bengaluru, the facility will focus on rapid iteration, experimental design and hands-on engineering.
Engineer-Led R&D Centre in Bengaluru
Unlike traditional setups, LAT’s research centre is structured around giving engineers autonomy. The facility will include advanced labs for turbomachinery, thermal systems, combustion and materials. Engineers will work without bureaucratic delays and have direct control over the entire development cycle from design to testing.
