Tesla will set up new supercharging stations in Gurugram, Noida, and Saket in the Delhi-NCR region, starting with Gurugram in the coming weeks, as per the PTI report. In Mumbai, the company is adding sites in Lower Parel, Navi Mumbai, and Thane, alongside the existing facility at Bandra Kurla Complex. Bengaluru is also included in the expansion plan.
As per the reports, the company opened its 2nd Indian experience centre on August 11, 2025, at Aerocity in New Delhi, following its first in Mumbai in July 2025. Tesla has leased a 33,000 sq ft retail and service space on Sohna Road, Gurugram, for ₹40 lakh per month over a 9-year term. The site will handle vehicle servicing, repairs, and customer support.
Plans include introducing mobile service, remote diagnostics, and a Tesla Approved Collision Centre.
Tesla launched the Model Y SUV in India last month with prices starting at ₹59.89 lakh, as per reports. The vehicle is imported as a completely built unit from Tesla’s Shanghai plant. High import duties, which can exceed 100%, place the model in the premium EV category, competing with offerings from Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Audi. In the US, the Model Y is priced at about $46,000, or roughly ₹40 lakh.
India’s electric passenger vehicle segment accounted for 4.1% of total sales in May 2025, up from 2.6% a year earlier, as per the reports. Other global EV makers are also expanding in India.
As per the news reports, Vietnam’s VinFast has committed up to $2 billion in Tamil Nadu, starting with $500 million in the first 5 years, and has opened its first manufacturing plant in Thoothukudi. The company aims to launch new models in August and expand to 35 dealerships in over 27 cities by the end of 2025.

Tesla’s charging network and retail expansion in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, and Bengaluru is aligned with its plan to begin vehicle deliveries in India by September 2025.
