Tesla Inc., the electric vehicle (EV) giant led by Elon Musk, is ramping up its presence in India. The company has leased approximately 33,475 sq ft of space at Orchid Business Park on Sohna Road, Gurgaon, to establish its second showroom and service center in the country.
As per Economic times reports, Tesla signed a 9 year lease agreement, commencing on July 15, with a monthly rental of ₹40 lakh. A security deposit of ₹2.41 crore has also been paid upfront for the commercial space.
This expansion comes shortly after Tesla opened its first India showroom in Mumbai, where it leased space in the upscale Maker Maxity complex at ₹881 per sq ft.
The move aligns with Tesla’s broader strategy to penetrate the Indian market one of the world’s fastest growing automotive hubs. The EV pioneer has been actively engaged in discussions with Indian government officials, scouting for showroom locations, and exploring manufacturing possibilities to set up local operations.
With rising demand for clean mobility and the Indian government’s EV-friendly policies, Tesla’s entry and expansion are seen as timely and strategic. The Gurgaon outlet will serve as both a retail showroom and a service facility, helping the company build a comprehensive support network for its customers.
