Tejas Networks Limited has commenced shipping its industry-leading IP-MPLS Routers and Management System for the Madhya Pradesh, Dadra Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu, and Uttarakhand packages under the BharatNet Phase III project.
Partnering with Nagarjuna Construction Company (NCC), a prominent industrial conglomerate, Tejas aims to upgrade the existing middle-mile broadband infrastructure in these states from linear to ring topology. This deployment will cover 30,841 Gram Panchayats (GPs) and 411 Block locations, leveraging IP-MPLS technology to ensure robust, reliable connectivity.
The use of IP-MPLS technology will enhance network resilience and efficiency, enabling seamless data transfer and reduced downtime.
By transitioning from linear to ring topology, the infrastructure can support higher bandwidth and improved fault tolerance, which is essential for delivering consistent digital services to rural communities. This technological upgrade is a critical step in empowering rural India with reliable broadband access.
BharatNet, funded by the Digital Bharat Nidhi (DBN), is a flagship program of the Government of India designed to extend high-speed broadband connectivity to every village. The project seeks to foster inclusive growth by bridging the digital divide between urban and rural areas.
The upgraded network infrastructure will become a national asset accessible on a non-discriminatory basis to all eligible service providers. This will facilitate the delivery of essential services such as online education, telemedicine, and e-governance to remote and rural populations.
Manoj Penmetcha, Director (Projects) of NCC said, “The creation of a robust, reliable and scalable middle-mile network for BharatNet is critical to ensuring high-quality broadband to every rural citizen. As India’s premier R&D and IPR-driven telecom product company with proven experience in successfully designing and executing numerous mission-critical networks in India and globally, we strongly believe that Tejas Networks is the ideal technology partner for this project.”
On October 23, 2025, Tejas Networks share price (NSE: TEJASNET) opened at ₹549.00, touching the day’s low at ₹540.00, as of 11:06 AM on the NSE.
