Shriram Group and Sanlam Group Partner to Launch Shriram Wealth in 50:50 Joint Venture

Shriram Group and South Africa’s Sanlam Group have launched a new company, Shriram Wealth, through a 50:50 joint venture. The firm plans to manage ₹50,000 crore in assets under advice (AUA) within five years. The initial rollout has started in nine cities, with plans to expand to 20 cities over the next year.
Target Market and Segmentation
Shriram Wealth will offer services across three categories based on investable assets:
- ₹10 lakh to ₹2 crore (mass and emerging affluent)
- ₹2 crore to ₹25 crore (high-net-worth individuals)
- Above ₹25 crore (ultra-high-net-worth individuals)
The company plans to serve these segments through a combination of lending, investment, protection, global products, and succession planning services.
Expansion into Smaller Cities
Along with metros, the venture is focusing on Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. As per news reports, the hiring plans include onboarding 500 professionals over the next 5 years. The company has already hired individuals with 15-20 years of experience from banking and non-banking backgrounds.
Technology and Global Access
Shriram Wealth’s services will include digital tools and AI-supported advisory platforms. Through Sanlam’s presence in 31 countries, clients in India will also have access to international financial products.
Shriram Wealth is part of a broader diversification effort. Earlier, the group announced a retail-focused asset reconstruction company, committing ₹300 crore to the project.
