L’Oréal is to establish its first global technology hub in Hyderabad, expanding its technology operations from India.
As per news reports, the French cosmetics group plans to invest more than ₹3,500 crore (€350 million) by 2030. The project is expected to create around 2,000 technology-related jobs during this period.
The Hyderabad facility will be L’Oréal’s first dedicated Beauty Tech hub worldwide. The company said the centre will work on digital platforms and artificial intelligence systems used across its global operations. These include data management, artificial intelligence, generative AI and agent-based systems supporting business functions.
The decision was announced after meetings between L’Oréal chief executive Nicolas Hieronimus and officials from the Government of Telangana at the World Economic Forum 2026 in Davos. Following the discussions, the two sides formalised plans covering investment, employment and long-term collaboration.
L’Oréal said hiring at the Hyderabad hub would take place in phases through 2030. The planned workforce includes engineers, data specialists and artificial intelligence professionals. The company added that the centre would also contribute to skill development aligned with Telangana’s broader technology initiatives.
The India Tech Hub will operate within L’Oréal’s global technology network. It will work alongside existing technology and AI centres in France, the United States, China, Singapore, Spain, Poland, Canada, Brazil and Mexico. The Hyderabad teams will support global operations by building and maintaining digital tools.
L’Oréal has operated in India for over 3 decades. The company said the new hub builds on its existing presence and reflects the growing role of India in supporting global technology functions for multinational firms.
L’Oréal employs more than 90,000 people worldwide. In 2024, the group reported sales of €43.48 billion. It operates 21 research centres across 13 countries, supported by over 4,000 scientists and around 8,000 digital specialists.
