BSE and NSE will observe an official holiday on October 21, but a special Muhurat trading session will allow investors to start the new Samvat year on an auspicious note. The session is a popular tradition among traders and retail participants alike.
On Monday, October 20, the markets will operate normally across both the BSE and NSE, despite some states celebrating Diwali Lakshmi Puja.
However, Tuesday, October 21, is an official holiday for the stock exchanges. A special Muhurat Trading session will take place between 1:45 pm and 2:45 pm, with modifications permitted until 2:55 pm.
During this festive hour, trading will be allowed across all market segments, including equities, derivatives, currency, and commodities.
Meanwhile stock market will be closed on Oct 22, 2025on the occasion of Balipratipada.
Muhurat Trading is a short, symbolic session held annually during Diwali to mark the beginning of the new Samvat year. Market participants, from experienced traders to first-time investors, view this session as an auspicious start for wealth creation.
