The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) has made notable progress with 10,203 MW of solar capacity installed and ₹7,106 crore disbursed till November 30, 2025.

The scheme has positively impacted over 20,42,000 farmers and associated organisations across India.

Open Participation and Disbursement Under PM-KUSUM

PM-KUSUM being a demand-driven scheme, encourages participation from individual farmers, groups including farmer producer organisations (FPOs), water user associations (WUAs), and primary agriculture credit societies (PACS).

The total amount released till November 30, 2025, was ₹7,106 crore, based on implementation progress and demand from states and union territories.

This scheme operates across 3 components—Component A (solar power plants), Component B (standalone solar pumps), and Component C (solarization of existing pumps).

Out of 9,964 MW sanctioned under Component A, 667.31 MW of capacity has been installed. Under Component B, 9,42,189 standalone solar pumps were installed, while Component C saw solarisation of 10,99,699 pumps.

Broad Outreach and State-wise Installations

Rajasthan leads the installation under Component A with 466.75 MW and Maharashtra contributes significantly in Component C with over 6,54,000 solarised pumps.

Gujarat installed 2,16,122 solarised pumps under Component C. The highest number of beneficiaries, 11,21,416, are from Maharashtra, followed by Rajasthan with 2,35,924 and Gujarat with 2,28,504.

As of November 30, 2025, a total of 20,42,459 beneficiaries have availed the benefits under PM-KUSUM, covering 31 states and union territories.

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has conducted regular workshops and issued revised guidelines on January 17, 2024, to further streamline implementation.
