This initiative will provide them with a monthly financial assistance of ₹2,500, beginning from September 1, 2026. The distribution event took place at Talkatora Stadium, with Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta leading the proceedings.

Event Highlights and Scheme Details

At the event, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta emphasised the importance of women in all government schemes, likening them to Goddess Lakshmi for their role in strengthening families and society.

The scheme aims to support women aged between 21 and 60 years, offering them greater financial security and assistance for everyday needs.

The scheme has registered 9,13,495 beneficiaries, with 6,52,223 having submitted completed applications.

Financial Assistance and Exclusions

From September 1, 2026, ₹2,500 will be directly transferred into the bank accounts of eligible beneficiaries each month.

The government has provided options for disbursement, allowing beneficiaries to receive ₹1,000 through a central bank digital currency and invest ₹1,500 in a fixed or recurring deposit, or to deposit the entire ₹2,500.

Women from households with more than 3 children and those with annual household electricity consumption exceeding 2,400 units are excluded from the scheme.

Additionally, a correction facility will soon be available on the Delhi Lakshmi Yojna portal for applicants to amend or complete missing information.
