Women enrolled under the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Scheme in Maharashtra are awaiting the January 2026 instalment.
While the programme provides monthly financial assistance through direct benefit transfers, the government has not confirmed the payout date for the new year.
Delays in recent disbursals and pending e-KYC verification have added to uncertainty among recipients.
Several beneficiaries who completed their electronic Know Your Customer (e-KYC) verification before the 31 December 2025 deadline are still awaiting the December instalment.
The e-KYC process was made mandatory to continue receiving benefits, and applications remain open through the government’s official portal.
However, intermittent payment delays have raised concerns regarding the continuity of disbursals.
As per news reports, the government may release both December and January instalments together, amounting to ₹3,000, possibly around the Makar Sankranti period.
These reports have not been confirmed by the Chief Minister’s Office or the Women and Child Development Department, leaving beneficiaries without official guidance.
Aditi Tatkare, Director of Women and Child Development in Maharashtra, has previously advised beneficiaries to complete the e-KYC process within the stipulated deadline to avoid disruption of payments.
Authorities continue to encourage pending applicants to complete verification to remain eligible for future instalments.
The Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Scheme provides monthly financial support of ₹1,500 to eligible women in Maharashtra. The programme covers women aged between 21 and 65 years who meet income and residency criteria.
Eligible beneficiaries include married, widowed, divorced, and economically disadvantaged women, along with one unmarried woman per household.
The family income limit for participation is capped at ₹2.5 lakh per annum.
As of mid-January, the state government has not issued an official notification regarding the January 2026 instalment date.
This has led to uncertainty among registered beneficiaries, many of whom rely on the monthly transfer for household expenses.

The Ladki Bahin Scheme continues to provide financial assistance to eligible women across Maharashtra, though the absence of an announced date for the January 2026 instalment has created uncertainty.
