The Delhi National Lok Adalat will be held on January 10, 2026, giving vehicle owners a one-day opportunity to settle eligible traffic e-challans. The Lok Adalat will take place across all Delhi District Court Complexes and is aimed at resolving minor traffic violations quickly, without lengthy court proceedings.

However, not all traffic challans qualify. Only specific, compoundable offences listed on official portals can be settled. Here is a breakdown of eligible challans for the January 10 Lok Adalat.

Delhi National Lok Adalat 2026: Traffic Challans Eligible for Settlement

Only minor and non-serious traffic violations can be settled during the Lok Adalat. These challans must be pending on the Delhi Traffic Police portal and forwarded to the Virtual Court up to September 30, 2025.

The following traffic offences are generally eligible for one-time settlement:

  • Driving without a helmet
  • Driving without a seatbelt
  • Over-speeding
  • Jumping red lights
  • Wrong or improper parking
  • Driving without a valid PUC certificate
  • Ignoring traffic signs
  • Missing or improper number plates
  • Incorrectly issued challans
  • In limited cases, driving without a licence (subject to verification)

These offences are considered non-dangerous and suitable for amicable settlement through Lok Adalat proceedings.

Important Eligibility Conditions to Note

  • Only challans visible on the Delhi Traffic Police website or Parivahan portal are eligible
  • Challans must be compoundable in nature
  • Walk-in registrations are generally not accepted
  • Online registration and token generation are mandatory

Traffic Challans Not Eligible for Lok Adalat

Certain offences are strictly excluded due to their serious or criminal nature. These include:

  • Drunk driving
  • Hit-and-run cases
  • Death due to negligent driving
  • Driving by minors
  • Unauthorised racing
  • Vehicles involved in criminal activities
  • Challans already pending in regular courts
  • Challans issued outside Delhi

Such cases will not appear for Lok Adalat settlement and must follow the regular legal process.

Why is Lok Adalat Useful for Traffic Challans?
