Startup Funding in India Rises 31% to $198.33 Million Across 21 Deals This Week

Startup funding in India reached $198.33 million across 21 deals during August 17-22, as per an Entrackr news report. Of these, 14 were early-stage deals and three were growth-stage transactions, while four companies did not disclose the amount raised.
This compared with about $151.5 million raised by 14 startups in the previous week, taking the weekly increase to 31%. The eight-week average was around $297 million across 20 deals.
Navi Takes the Largest Share of Funding
The three growth-stage deals brought in $118.3 million. Navi raised $100 million from Prosus, marking its first institutional funding round.
BGauss followed with ₹110 crore, or $11.6 million, in a Series D round. Butterfly Learnings raised ₹65 crore, or $6.7 million, in a Pre-Series B round led by Inflexor Ventures.
CtrlS Leads the Early-Stage Deals
The 14 early-stage deals accounted for $80.03 million. CtrlS raised ₹250 crore, including ₹ 200 crore from Zerodha cofounder Nikhil Kamath and ₹50 crore from entrepreneur Sreeram Reddy Vanga.
NeoGeo secured $20 million in a Series A round, while Rezolv raised $12.5 million. Peeko received more than $7 million and Lissun raised ₹48 crore. Other companies that raised funds included DeHaat Honest Farms, AlgoFET, First Coffee, and Yantra Packs.
Bengaluru Records Nine Deals
Bengaluru saw nine startup deals during the week, followed by Delhi-NCR with seven. Mumbai, Hyderabad and Jaipur also recorded funding transactions.
E-commerce had five deals, followed by healthtech with three. Fintech and deeptech recorded two deals each. Data centres, AI, EV, agritech and F&B were among the other sectors that saw funding.
Acquisitions and Changes at Senior Levels
DSP Finance acquired Salter Technologies, while Fleetx.ai bought Pando.ai for an undisclosed amount. Hearzap completed its acquisition of Amplifon India's hearing healthcare business.
There were also eight senior appointments and two departures. Snabbit, Superhealth, Swiggy, MobiKwik, Charwaha.com and 360 ONE made appointments, while Flipkart is set to see Gunjan Bhartia and Amer Hussain leave their roles.
