Originally incorporated as Jindal Vijayanagar Steel Ltd on March 15, 1994, JSW Steel Limited is a flagship company of the JSW Group. It is a steel manufacturing company in India that supplies to build key infrastructure projects, including rail, metro, water pipelines, gas and oil pipelines, airports, etc. Along with these infrastructure projects, the products of the company are also used in machinery, automotive and general engineering.
As of March 2023, JSW Steel has a domestic crude steel capacity of 27.7 MTPA. The company has steel manufacturing units in various regions of the world, including Italy, USA, etc. Their manufacturing plant in Karnataka is the largest single-location steel-producing facility in India, with a capacity of 12 MTPA. They have a presence in more than 100 countries and 13 captive iron ore mines. The brands of the company are JSW Pragati, JSW Vishwas+, JSW Silveron+, JSW Everglow, JSW Vishwas, JSW Platina, JSW Galvos, JSW Galveco, JSW Avantee, JSW Neosteel, JSW Radiance and many more.
In 1995, JSW Steel Limited released its IPO, which was followed by its listing on the exchanges.
